Building a custom home from the ground up is an exciting experience. It’s your chance to construct dream home from start to finish. We also know that building and construction can be stressful. Our goal at Tn Custom Builders is to make the process simple, streamlined and transparent. Here is how we make that happen.
Design Phase
Every build is different and requires a meeting to discuss your ideas and the scale of work. This helps determines project cost and provides enough information to give a beginning estimate. Cost is often an important consideration. TN Custom Builders is experienced in managing the budget to meet customer needs. Once the beginning estimate is accepted, the schedule, materials selection, and construction methods are finalized. A final budget and contract are provided based on completed plans and specifications for the project. Land Evaluation and Site Development are an integral part of the design phase.
Land Evaluation and Site Development
During the site evaluation, we will come out to your land and look over the potential building site with you, discussing your wants and needs. This will help us better understand the scope of work.
The first thing on your builders to-do list is determining the preparation necessary for the land before construction can begin. This includes ensuring large construction vehicles will be able to access the building site. The best place for a temporary driveway and culvert to aid construction will also be mapped out. Next, they’ll consider the necessary prep before a foundation can be poured, such as tree removal and leveling.
By the time you’re looking at your land with a representative, you likely already have a good idea of where you want your home to go, or you’ve at least narrowed down your options to 2-3 potential building sites. Your land preparation specialist will calculate its slope or “grade.” This step allows for experts to plan for the foundation’s construction and necessary drainage accommodations.
Construction Phase
The construction phase is the physical process of building and all other associated activities such as landscaping, refurbishing, site clearance, and demolition. We divide our building process into seven stages.
Post Construction Phase
Relationships with our customers do not end after a project is complete. We provide you with all manufacturer warranties, and maintenance and care guidelines for all new installations. We stand behind the quality of our work and take pride in the continued satisfaction of our customers.
